1. Overview

The AI User Wellbeing & Safety Self-Assessment (BETA) ("Assessment," "Tool," "we," "us," or "our") is an independent educational initiative developed by the AI User Safety Initiative. Our mission is to promote safe, ethical, and informed use of artificial-intelligence tools. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding that information.

Important: The Assessment is not affiliated with any government body, academic institution, or global safety association.

2. Information We Collect

a. Assessment Responses

When you complete the Assessment, your answers are recorded anonymously.

We do not collect names, email addresses, IP addresses, or other direct identifiers unless you voluntarily choose to provide contact information (for example, to receive your results by email).

b. Optional Contact Information

If you opt in to receive your personalized report, newsletter, or research updates, your email address will be stored separately from assessment data and used only for that purpose.

You may unsubscribe or request deletion at any time.

c. Device Data and Cookies

We may collect limited technical data (browser type, device type, time zone, basic analytics) to ensure the site functions correctly.

Cookies, if used, are strictly for performance and session continuity—no tracking or behavioral advertising cookies are employed.

3. How We Use Collected Data

  • To calculate and display your anonymous results.
  • To analyze aggregate patterns in AI use and improve educational materials.
  • To maintain platform security and stability.
  • To contact you only if you have opted in to communications.

We do not sell, rent, or share your individual data with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

4. Data Storage and Retention

  • Anonymous response data are stored on secure, encrypted servers.
  • Optional contact data are stored separately with restricted access.
  • Data are retained for up to 90 days, after which raw responses are permanently deleted and only non-identifiable aggregate statistics are kept for research and reporting.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls to protect data during transmission and storage. No system is completely immune to risk; by using this site you acknowledge that you share information at your own discretion.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Request deletion of optional contact information.
  • Request a copy of any personal data you provided (if applicable).
  • Withdraw consent to communications at any time.

Contact us at info@aiusersafety.org to exercise these rights.

7. Children's Privacy

This tool is intended for users aged 16 and older.

8. Third-Party Links

The site may contain links to educational resources hosted elsewhere. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third-party sites.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect platform or regulatory changes. Updates will appear on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
